Oh man, I shouldn’t be writing… I’m two whiskey’s in and waiting for a top up. My New Years is never on New Years Eve but is everything to do with New Years Day. That is when family turn up and I get to have a tipple or two.
This is the day that puts a smile on my face. The day that we can all laugh and make jokes. Dad tries to convince the grand-kids that a baby swan is a swanling… Think duckling – you know it makes sense. And I get to play with castles and knights. It is just a fun time.
There is food, but not loads, and the other Christmas pud… It is just a lovely relaxed day. It is a day to look back and say what went well and what went badly.
Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, Leonard Cohen… I could go on, but they all made the list for the mentions at dinner. Trump even got a laugh.
But the start of the new year is also about making everything seem a little better. Last year ended on a bum note for me, so I have been busy creating today. I have done the spitpaint (daily drawing prompts)… But not on my computer. Instead in my sketchbook.
Prompt – Chess piece.
In fact my new year resolution is to do a page in the sketchbook a day… I think it will be good to be able to look back on it. I’ll share them as well. 🙂
Happy, Healthy & Safe New Year to you and your family. I love your sketch. You have a lot of talent and make sure we get to see them.
I will… Hopefully by the end of the year there will be 365 of them… 🙂
YOU can do it!
Hopefully!
Lovely! You’re reminding me that perhaps I’d like to flex my artistic muscles, Kate… Thanks! 😉 xoM
Flex that muscle! It is therapeutic as well as fun…
Great horse sketch.
Thank you!
Welcome:)
