I love to blog

In fact I think it is addictive. I can’t wait to see who will have a look, what countries will be involved and what the most viewed post will be. I’m hooked and it is a problem.

You see I am trying to write a book, but blogging is so very much easier than writing fiction. They are short for one and they allow you to use an idea and then quickly move to the next. You can also bounce ideas off people. But the problem is that I am not writing, instead I am blogging.

And I’m not sleeping because at the end of the day, when I can hardly keep my eyes open, I realise that once again I have done more words on the blog than I have on the book.

So what to I do? I have decided. From today I will be doing one post a day and only one. Lately there have been up to four. And I am also going to try for a chapter a day.

I’ll let you know how it goes, but I’ve got to kick this habit. It isn’t doing my career any good.  It was okay while I was a student, but now I’m trying to ‘make’ it I just can’t spare the time. My word count has got to go into the book.

Now if only I can limit myself to one post a day, or even every other day – that would be okay… I’ll see if I can stick to it over the next week. Although I may do two today – just to ease myself in.

You see – it’s addictive!

      1. Well, I usually write posts late at night and schedule them to be posted at different times while I’m asleep. Then I respond to comments in the morning and read posts from the blogs I follow and the Reader. Then the rest of the day is for writing.
        How about you?

      2. At the moment – I’m not balancing, more like blogging and panicking. I think I’m going to have to do something similar. Otherwise my writing just doesn’t get done…

  1. Yes it is addictive but there are also some days when bloggers feel like stop writing anything and just need to take a break 😀 .. I wonder, will you feel like this someday ? 😀
